Key responsibilities
Inspect pallets: Visually examine pallets for damage, wear, and quality criteria.
Repair and replace boards: Use tools like hammers, crowbars, and nail guns to remove damaged boards and install new ones.
Assemble pallets: Some roles may also involve assembling new pallets from boards.
Maintain tools: Perform basic maintenance on tools, such as troubleshooting jams with pneumatic nail guns.
Adhere to safety standards: Follow all company safety procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and operate machinery with care.
Meet production goals: Work efficiently to achieve production quotas and maintain a clean work area.
Required skills and qualifications
Physical ability: Ability to lift heavy objects (50-75 lbs or more), stand for long periods, and perform repetitive movements like bending, stooping, and twisting.
Tool operation: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, particularly pneumatic nail guns, saws, and hammers.
Attention to detail: Meticulous inspection and repair to ensure pallets meet quality and safety standards.
Communication: Ability to communicate with supervisors and team members.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is often preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a related field like construction, carpentry, or warehousing is a plus.
Requirements
- 0-3 years warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, delivery, or inventory management is preferred. High attention to detail. Comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment. Positive demeanor, dependability, and strong work ethic. Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices. Ability to lift items that weigh up to 50lbs regularly. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures. Ability to bend, stretch, move continuously throughout the shift.
